Grades 3 through 5

I only have my students once a week so this project would take four months to complete. We would begin with the Olympus Camera Lab. We would examine all aspects that go along with the camera from what makes a good picture to lighting and angles. Then cameras would be checked out by a child for three days and each child would be allowed to take five pictures. After they take their pictures they will use tool factory software to edit and enhance these photos. They will then write a story using tool factory word processor to go along with the photos. We will also use the Multimedia Lab software from toolfactory to add music and voices to the story and pictures and put them together into a slide show or short movie. These will then be shown to the other students as well as be linked to our school's web homepage. We would also be able to burn them to CD so that each child would have a copy of their completed work.
Comments
Every child has a story and that story deserves to be heard. Through the Olympus mobile lab and software from Tool Factory my students could do that. They would be able to express themselves creatively and not have to worry about how well they spell or speak. My hispanic children would be able to break through the language barrier and have the chance to shine. This would also be helpful for my special needs students.
