Keywords: Digital Storytelling
Subject(s): No
Grades 9 through 12
School: Green Mountain Sr High School, Lakewood, CO
Planned By: Mari Hobkirk
Original Author: Mari Hobkirk, Lakewood
Day 1 -
I start by introducing myself to the class with either a movie created in PhotoStory3 or a Voicethread. I use digital photos of my summer vacation, or interests, etc, to introduce myself to the class.

Next I show the students the storyboard I produced when I started planning my introduction. Discuss selection of photos, and music (if using PhotoStory3).

Give students a day to think about this.

Day 2 -
Have students complete their storyboards for the project, let them know it is possible to make changes, but that they need to have a plan.

Day 3-5
Students work to pull together resources (photos, drawings, scanned photos, sound clips, etc) and record narration in the appropriate program.

Day 6-7
Present introductions to the class.
Final videos should be 3-5 minutes in length.

Follow-Up
Have students take notes about the other students. Quiz them later, on interesting facts presented by others.
