OBJECTIVE: To read and share genre of books with their family during the week-end. At the end of reading, the student and family will complete a writing journal.

GRADE LEVEL: 30-Kindergarten bilingual students

MATERIAL: A bookbag filled with six books at their grade and reading level. I would like 30 bookbags filled with six different books in each bag (6x30=180 books)
Thirty writing journals for each student.

LESSON PLAN:
Each student will read all 180 books through out the year by taking home a different bookbag each week-end of the school year. As they complete the reading, the student and family will write a short critique about the genre of books they finished reading for that week-end. Writing will exemplify their understanding of the literature. When they return the bookbag/books they will earn points for completing the week-end project.

-students will share thoughts about books
-students will model reading and projects to fellow classmates
-students will write summaries and their own version of a story
