THIS LESSON IS ADAPTABLE TO ANY AND ALL GRADES- SIFE/ESL

Grade k-6 ESL class ( students-low beginners as assessed by the NYSESLAT or LAB R)
Class size- not greater than 10

Objective-
SWBAT-all students(SIFE) - 1. express themselves through video.
2. Select and capture photos to express how they feel.
3. Will collaboratively name and read the correct verbage for the photos and feelings with teacher.

Procedures-

Students will walk through the school with their cameras and select 3 photos that demonstrate who they are.(w/ TEACHER)
The photos will be saved to the student's file. Each student will meet with teacher to identify objects/frames etc. and
elicit and name the feeling they want to express. Each student will be given 3 pages for the class book that will be shared and finally stored in library after laminating for all to enjoy.All students will be able to read the entire book.

Summary

Studentswill be successful in the non-threatening environment of the lesson.
Students will learn how to successfully use the camera.
Students will feel proud of their accomplishments.
Students will be able to read the object names and affective vocabulary.



Follow-Up
The sky is the limit with a camera. ESL students are freed from constraints when they use a camera. It levels the playing field.They see, feel, think, and taste the learning. They just need us to facilitate their desires with words.
