Capturing The Moments

My students will be acting and performing for each other in the classroom and for other classes in the school using Reader's Theater. I will provide my students with the books and materials. It will help my reluctant readers and shy speakers to become better readers and public speakers.

As mentioned above, my students come from poor families and single-parent homes. Many of my students are not exposed to or have experienced how technology has made it possible to capture their small moments and activities in the video mode.

A camcorder would be used to record my students' precious moments. Students will role play in the Reader's Theater plays, and the students' activities and roles will be recorded. These types of activities will provide the students an opportunity to reflect on and assess their speaking, listening, performing and presenting skills. This will help students reading, public speaking, writing and presentation skills.
