Teacher will model how to use the camera and take a picture of a butterfly plant. Teacher will show the image on the computer moniter. She will make a list and brainstorm descriptive words that describe the picture with the students: milkweed, bright green, golden flower, dark brown soil, flapping butterfly, etc...Teacher will review the components of a sentence: capital letter, complete thought, and proper end mark. Teacher will make complete sentences from jot list. with the students.

Students will determine what they will take a picture of on the school property. Each will take a picture, display it, and write their own jot list and matching sentences.

Teacher will revise and edit sentences in conferencing with students.

Students will read their sentences to the class as each picture is displayed in a class slideshow.
Materials: Point and Shoot, Slideshow, Flash/USB Drives, Batteries
