Then when students return to the library, each student creates a powerpoint or photostory about the person that they have read. This part of the project takes students at least two class periods to complete. Next, students decorate a potato to look like the person they read about. Students use a very of art materials to decorate their potato, items such as felt, form, cotton balls and cloth are used. This part of the project takes one class period to complete. On the fouth class period, students present their work. Using the LCD project students project their powerpoints or photostories. Students also use the document camera to show their decorated pototo.
