Grades 2 through 3

Students frequently work on inquiry-based projects over an extended time period. Due to this extended time, we focus on process as well as product. This process is not easily documented in traditional methods (paper, pencil). I would like for students to be able to use digital cameras to document their process throughout the entire project. This will allow for parents to see the project from the beginning. It will also allow the opportunity for students to reflect on their learning in incremental steps along the way to their final product. This documentation will also help teachers through formative assessment.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Digital documentation for portfolios can apply to any subject, any project that students are working on.
Follow-Up
This will be a continuous project throughout the year with a digital portfolio as a final product to go along with their traditional portfolio.
