1. The teacher tells students they are going to learn some vocabulary to be able to act out a story. Students are introduced to the story characters by means of a matching game using the image match smartboard tool.

2. Students are given a worksheet to work individually matching words in a word bank to pictures related to the previous activity. Teacher asks students to read aloud their answers and then she displays the correct answer for the kids to make corrections on their worksheets.

3. To practice pronunciation, the teacher invites students to read the vocabulary using a spooky voice.

4. By means of TPR, the teacher introduces ten action words of the story in groups of five. The teacher acts out a word and the class copies her by repeating the word aloud.

5. The class plays " Simon says" (Simon dice) to assess understanding of the new vocabulary.

6. The teacher chooses 8 students to act out the story. She reads the story in Spanish and the students do what she reads. Student finally realize what each character is to do in the story when they are actually acting it out.

7. Students answer questions about the story in Spanish.

8. Students videotape the story and choose the best video to be shown in the "Morning Show" .

9. The best scenes of each class are printed and display on the main hallway for all the classes to see.

Comments
This unit could have benefited by the use of costumes and a software to edit video. All the classes were very engaged and learned the vocabulary in context.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Working with TPRS gives the students the opportunity to improve their reading skills. While working on the video making, students worked as a team to organize every aspect of the mini-movie, everybody got involved and cooperated with ideas to make their videos look better every time. There were different committees that were responsible for different tasks: resources, videotaping, the audience, director.
Follow-Up
The best video was shown on the "Morning Show" and the best scenes were displayed on the main hallway.
