Day 1: Students will brainstorm and determine the topic of their writings. Day 2 and 3: Students will write a short poem and include an illustration. The student must remember what they have learned about rhyming words, rhythm, and repetition. Best handwriting will also be stressed. The teacher will use a digital camera to take pictures as each child creates his/her writing. Day 4: The teacher will review each selection. The student will make necessary corrections in the rewriting of the selection. Day 5: Students will read their poems into a digital voice recorder.
Day 6: The teacher will prepare the book {photographs, poems, and illustrations}. The teacher will scan the book and make a CD. This can be used at open house.
