Objective:Students translate and memorize a song. Students then plan and record a lipdub video.

Essential Question: How do you translate songs?

Procedures:
1. Students will work in groups to translate a song from English to Spanish.
2. Teacher will review with students when to use a literal translation and when to paraphrase.
3. Students will record the audio of their songs.
4. Students will vote on their favorite song.
5. The class will memorize the lyrics to the chosen song.
6. Students will watch several lipdub videos to understand the concept of a lipdub video. All action must occur in one continuous video shot.
7. Students will map out the plan for their lipdub video.
8. Using an mp3 player attached to speakers the music/recording of the translated song will be played while students lipsynch.
9. Students will produce lipdub video by recording it using the Flip camera.
10. The final video will have the recorded audio dubbed on top of the action.
11. These videos can then be shared with other classes, as well as other schools through the schoollipdubs website.
