Original Author: Shana Carter, Omaha
A small group of students will choose and/or be assigned a reader's theatre script to practice their reading fluency. Each group of students will perform a fairy tale that we have read previously this year; The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and Little Red Riding Hood.

Students will be given time to practice with their group and work on the fluency of their readings. During practice sessions, students will audio record their readings and then listen to themselves. Students will self-reflect about their own personal fluency and peer-reflect in order to help other students in the group with their fluency.

When ready, students will perform their Reader's Theatre in front of a green screen.
The performances will then be sent to the high school video technology students who will use video editing to create background scenery for the fairy tale. The high school students will then send the edited videos back to our class for the final viewing. These performances will be posted on our class website for parents and family member to view.

This is a great way to collaborate with our high school students on a technology project, work on an important reading skill, and have fun doing it!
