School: Gordonsville High School, Gordonsville, TN
Planned By: Larissa Miller
Original Author: Larissa Miller, Gordonsville
First have students watch Bizarre Foods: Spain, Ecuador, and Mexico. While they watch, have students taking notes about specific foods and why they are eaten. After watching each video, there will be a short quiz.

Throughout this process of watching the videos, the students will also be researching Bizarre Foods through the internet. They will be provided with worksheets to guide their research. Some of the guiding questions are: What are some Bizarre Foods that have been or still are eaten in the United States? Do you eat anything that might be considered bizarre? Why are these foods not necessarily considered bizarre? How is eating these foods resourceful? (*All questions are in Spainsh.)

Other worksheets will be provided that allow the students to write creatively. They will be asked to imagine that they are on a trip with Andrew Zimmern and to write about their experiences. (These should be in Spanish.)

Finally, the students will work in groups of 3-4 to develop their own Bizarre Foods segment. This segment will be in Spanish and should be 6-8 minutes long. It will be recorded and will be watched in class. The students will be given a rubric for grading.
