NWHS Group Video Project

You and your group are going to create a short video about a topic that highlights something about NWHS. It can be a sports team, a club, a class, a “how to” video for new students, etc. I am open to different ideas and I encourage creativity! As you consider your topic choices, remember that you must pick a topic that you can film during your class period (if you are using the school’s cameras). If you have your own camera and can film on your own time, you may do that also. You will be required to edit the video in class using Movie Maker so make sure that if you use a different camera, you are able to get the footage from the camera to the your computer.

ALL TOPICS MUST BE APPROVED BY MRS. HARTLEY PRIOR TO STARTING.

Here are some general guidelines to get you started:
• 2-3 People per Group
• Must have an APPROVED topic before starting
• Submit a plan of the video prior to starting to tape
o Storyboards available or you can create your own planning sheet either on the computer or by hand
• Video should be 3-5 Minutes
• Video must have an obvious theme
• There must be an obvious beginning, middle, and end
• Demonstration of various shooting techniques should be used
o Discussed in the “Shooting Better Videos” Notes. Examples: Pans, Zooms, Various viewpoints, etc.
