Our Leadership class is designed to help students realize their potential to achieve great things, help with social skills, to set example for the world and to set high and challenging goals for themselves. This class helps them realize and maintain their dreams and good skills that will help them succeed later in life. Through the generous donation of the Flip Video Cameras, our class will be able to more effectively carry out our responsibilities, therefore established skills about responsibility to be practiced later in life.
Specific duties such as educational videos. We would be able to provide the teachers and students with knowledge of policies and better understand curricula. We have a program called 'Word Up' that teaches students key vocabulary that they will need to know. With the addition of the Flip Video Cameras we would be able to film the segments more often, make them better quality, and more applicable to students.
We would be able to create promotional videos for the school and the student store with the video cameras. Through the promotional videos, this would teach the kids how to write and stage productions. Our school presents a promotional video to the elementary schools to inform them about the many opportunities at our middle school. Through the use of the Flip, we can film extensively and provide more information about the wide variety of classes. We also would be able to create advertisements for the student store, Panther Depot. Advertising essential supplies that are used everyday, students would be able the purchase the items easily. With promotional videos for the students store, the children in Leadership would develop business skills and responsibilities to be applied later with employment.
Students acquire technology skills which is fundamental to life. In a world of technology based instruments, in order to survive and succeed we must have some sort of foundation of technological knowledge to fall back on. Just the simple 'know-how' of the flip camera and other such equipment, students become prepared for the technology jammed life ahead. For some adults, technology gets in the way of their job because of their lack of expertise. By educating our students in film making, we are preparing them to better carry out their responsibilities that come with employment.
We can bring awareness to the students by running segments on the announcements about world or local news. For example we would be able to film a news cast about Japan's earthquake and the tsunami urging the students to take vital action. This would help the students keep in touch with the world's issues and help sustain habits of charity and investigating controversy.
Finally, normal classes would only use the camera for projects, but through leadership class we get to use the Flip Cameras in a more proactive way, formulating everlasting habits. By instilling values at an early age, Leadership students are able to learn valuable skills that they will be able to put in to practice in every part of life.
Thank you for your time and patience with the project. Crittenden Middle School appreciates your donation to any school you choose, supports you cause, and wishes you well in all your endeavors.
