School: Allegheny Elementary Sch No 1, Duncansville, PA
Planned By: Lacy Frazier
Original Author: Lacy Frazier, Duncansville
The students write narrative/informative sentences and paragraphs about family, friends, memories, or experiences corresponding with each letter of the alphabet. This is organized as a multipage packet and is given as the first step of the project. Upon completion of the Alphabetically Me packet, the students are then instructed to summarize the main points they would like to share with others. This paragraph undergoes self editing, peer editing, and teacher editing. The final summarization is then videoed. Students may use PowerPoint as an option for presenting their "Alphabetically Me." Others may choose to share via video journal. Peers will video each other. The final projects are then shared with the class and after school during the “Technology/Portfolio Showcase” where family and friends are invited attend.
