This lesson is part of a multi lesson project where students create a book jacket based on a famous African American that they research for a Wax Museum project. Before this lesson, they create a graphic for their featured person and select an engaging title for their book jacket.

During this lesson, they take the speech they wrote for their Wax Museum project which was in first person. They will need to paraphrase and summarize in third person.

This lesson takes them through this process by first having the teacher model with think aloud and then having the students work independently.
