Warm up- The students will discuss emotions and the teacher will write these emotions on the board. The teacher will then ask volunteers to display some of these emotions with facial expressions/ body language.

Model: The teacher will talk about conflict and display the definition on the board. Using, "turn and share" the students will tell a partner about a time that they experienced or witnessed a conflict situation. After five minutes, the partner will share what they just heard with the whole group.

Guided Practice: Two students will be chosen to come to the front of the class. They will be asked to act out a situation if the person told them that they no longer wanted to be friends. The pair will role paly and the other student will show what a "negative" reaction to this statement would be. A class discussion will be held to discuss the role play. At the completion of the class discussion the students will role play the same situation as before. This time the other student will react positively.

Independent Practice: The students will be placed into groups of four. They will develop a role play which displays a conflist situation. They will be responsible for developing scripts, solutions, and setting. Each group will work together over the course of 1 month to perfect role play, memorize lines, and prepare for live video shoot.

Culminating Activity: The groups will be video taped performing their role play. The students can opt to stay after school to help the teacher with editing the video. Videos will be distributed to each classroom teacher in the school to use as an instructional aide when discussing conflict resolution with their students. The students in room 409 will also receive a copy to take home and share with their families.
