Position: Entry-Level Programmer and Technical Support
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
Digital Wish needs a programmer to develop web-based tools, social networking features, product websites, and online tools. This activity will be combined with general office IT support, and customer service support for various software programs.
We are looking for a well-rounded individual who is confident in many technical areas, including (but not limited to):
- Computer programming - Dynamic object oriented programming, web based. Experience in python is preferred.
- Databases - MySQL preferred.
- Linux - Applicant should be familiar with the basics of the OS.
- Tech Support - Applicant should be comfortable conversing with customers both over the phone and via e-mail, and should have troubleshooting skills.
- IT Support . Help support the office staff with daily IT issues concerning file management, internet access, network access, and general computing issues.
The right individual would be willing to learn. Experience will be gained from the existing staff, but more importantly the individual will be expected to develop skills and also to be self-directed.
This is the ideal position for a new graduate who is looking for a career in computer programming. The candidate will be initially mentored through projects, and given autonomy as his/her technical skills develop.
The job will begin as a paid internship for the summer, then grow into a full-time programming and tech-support position by Fall 2010.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is required.

Classroom Technology Integration Specialist
Become part of the e-Vermont School Modernization Initiative at Digital Wish. A classroom technology integration specialist is needed to work with educators in grades 4-6, to teach interactive lessons and peer-coach in 6-8 different elementary schools throughout Northern Vermont. The specialist will work closely with selected administrators, teachers, and students using hardware, software, internet applications, and lessons directly connected to the individual school's local community. Creativity, teaching experience, and knowledge of modern technology are required. We are looking for someone that is energetic, fun, and good with upper elementary children, while also displaying the professionalism required to work with principals, technology coordinators, classroom teachers, and fellow trainers throughout the state. Position requires travel to schools with trainer's own vehicle, offers mileage reimbursement, and runs from September 1st, 2010 through May 31st, 2011 with the potential for extension.

Website Community Manager Position
Digital Wish, a growing Southern Vermont-based national non-profit organization, is seeking a website community manager to join its development team. The community manager will be responsible for mentoring school fundraisers, managing a user-friendly web environment, and being the eyes and ears of a growing online community.
These tasks will include:
-Be the eyes and the ears of our growing community of over 40,000 users. -Act as a liaison between the registrants. needs and our production team to create a user-friendly experience. -Reach out to our new and top fundraisers and gather case studies. -Mentor top fundraisers and new registrants to reach fundraising goals. -Recruit active users to write as a guest blogger for Digital Wish. -Track popular product suggestions and work with vendor manager to add products as demand grows. -Set goals and track statistics. -Work with communication manager to implement reengagement tactics. -Act as an internal communication liaison between the various departments.
The Successful Candidate will:
- Be comfortable and professional on the phone. - Be personable and have experience with fostering relationships. - Have excellent organizational and time management skills. - Be able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Be committed to Digital Wish.s mission to solve technology shortfalls in schools.
