Before Reading:
1. Hand students iPads and have them select the text they are about to read.
2. Ask students what they already know about the subject to be read about.
3. Highlight any vocabulary the students will need before reading.
4. Explain that students will whisper read the text and will answer questions at the end.

During Reading:
1. Students whisper read the text.
2. If desired, teacher can have students record their voices for future reference.
3. Teacher listens to fluency and assists students with reading as necessary.

After Reading:
1. Have students summarize what happened in the text.
2. The RAZ-Kids app has questions following each of the texts. Read the questions aloud and have students select their answers.
3. Teacher can quickly assess each student's comprehension.
