Content Standards:
4.0 The student will attain proficiency level in word processing.
5.0 The student will attain proficiency level in spreadsheet applications.
6.0 The student will attain proficiency level in database design and management
7.0 The student will attain proficiency level in multimedia presentations.

***Microsoft Office Suite including: Powerpoint, Publisher, Word, Excel, and Access***

Language Art Standards:
*Demonstrate confidence and poise in various speaking situations.
*Present oral summaries and/or analysis of material read or viewed.

Before:
Go over exam schedule with students, review with them programs used and strengths and weaknesses of those. Split students into small groups. Introduce concept of “Carousel”. Have groups rotate and add thoughts to each of the posters.

During:
Each group will be given a reading passage. As a group, they will read, review and agree on the important vocabulary. Each group will design 2 or 3 basic Power Point slides. Groups will present their information to class and each individual student will take notes on their Graphic Organizer. After giving each group an opportunity to present, we will take a few minutes and make sure we have all the information needed for our organizer.

After:
When discussion is complete, each student will be asked to write an Exit Card. They will need to answer 2 questions:
1. Which of the Office programs do you feel that you will use in your everyday life? Explain some ways it might be used.
2. Which of the programs, besides Access, do you feel you are least proficient with? Do you think that you might pursue further training with that program?
