My Philosophy:
Every student should have access to the latest technology in order to provide more oppotunities for college-preparedness.All students should be prepared for college, 2year, 4year, or Career Tech. In working with Cal-PASS, I hope to help secondary and post-secondary schools develop closer relationships and aligned curriculum. In doing this, we will truly be preparing students for a future in further education in one of the three areas mentioned above.
Personal Information:
College and Degrees:
I earned my BA and credential at Sonoma State University. I am currently furthering my educations by taking summer Spanish classes, to better connect the families of my ELD students. Also, I am applying for scholarships to pursue my Masters degree in English.
Activities:
My passions are soccer, traveling, gardening, and hiking. I play in the Sonoma County Womens Outdoor Soccer league. During the summer and subsequent breaks, I try to add another stamp to my passport.
Favorite Books:
In no particular order: Neverwhere, Neil Gaiman; Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen; The Color Purple, Alice Walker; Mother Tongue, Bill Bryson; City of Thieves, David Benioff.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I like to help people succeed. The best moments in the classroom is when a student realizes that through his or her hard work he or she has improved.
