About Me:
I live on Bainbridge Island, WA and commute to Seattle by ferry and then to school by car. That's a 90 minute commute which develops into a 2 to 2 1/2 hour trip home from Kirkland, WA
College and Degrees:
Seattle University BA in Elem Ed with a split major of History and English Graduatework in C and I with a specialization in Montessori education at Seattle U and graduate work from Lesley University C and I with an Ed Tech specailization
Activities:
Currently Beta Testing with my class for Dream Box Learning with an outstanding k-2 web based in home math program focusing on number sense and algebraic thinking. I'm also nuts enough to be working on my National Boards.
Favorite Books:
I read by the ton and love historical fiction, series where the characters become a part of my neighborhood. I live in a community with many authors .

Interests:
Hubby, children, toddler grandchildren, boating, wooden boats, Sea Scouts - the sea sick queen does get a bit green when in the galley even if the Sea Scout ship is a 1938 90' sailboat, photography, dreaming of ways to "get rich" so I can retire, jewelry design or really just collecting the beads to "someday" do something with them, and travel
Employment History:
42 years as an elementary school teacher in the Lake Washington School District in Kirkland, WA Lots of time doing extra odd things such as retail sales, organizing focus groups, selling Time Share etc.
Why Do I Teach?:
Today I wonder! Actually, I want children to become independent learners, bend the sides of the box and maybe cut windows and doors to taste what you can do outside of your desk.
