Class Information:
Class Description:
My students have three computers in the classroom and our district has a wonderful online reading program, but the students are not able to spend enough time on the computers to adequately increase their reading skills. Last year, one of my students was able to move up four grade levels in reading comprehension by daily use of a district computer reading program.
Position:
English/Language Arts
Needs:
I wish that I could have sixteen classroom computers to further reading and writing skills necessary for life in the twenty-first century. I belive this will create better reading comprehension, better writing skills, and better communicatin with the world around them.
My Philosophy:
I beleive all children are individuals and learn at varying rates and through various means (tactile, auditory, visual, kinesthetic).. I believe that students learn more when they are self-motivated and learning information they find will aid them in their own lives.
