Class Description:
I have the first 4K class ever in my school. There are 22 little ones ranging in all abilities. I also service 3-5 years olds with special needs in the afternoon.
Position:
4K/Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
Needs:
With being a new program in the school I have had to find a lot of materials and supplies on my own. I am looking to now fullfil my technology needs in order to help improve student learning.
My Philosophy:
I believe in child focused and play-based learning and assessment. Every child needs something different to learn and it is my job to find out what that is. Children of all abilities have the opportunity to learn and grow in my classroom, creating a community of acceptance and respect.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I have been teaching for 3 years. I have previously taught special education and now have combined my regular ed. and special ed. knowledge to teach a new 4K program and children with special needs.
College and Degrees:
I received my undergraguate degree from UW-Whitewater. I have dual licensure in regular and special education for birth to third grade. I am currently enrolled at Carroll University and I am half way through my Masters in Education.
Activities:
I am currently involved in SPRED through my church. It is special religious education for children with disabilities. I am also part of a technology committee in my school.
Favorite Books:
I enjoy reading about new teaching strategies and theories. I also enjoy books by Nicholas Sparks.
Interests:
I enjoy traveling and sharing my experiences with my students. I love cooking and trying new food.
