Resource Classroom servicing students in grades K through 5 with IEPs (Individual Education Plans). I also support the 'at-risk' students who are struggling academically and may need assessment for special services through our Learning Center program.
Position:
Special Ed. Teacher
Needs:
I have only one computer in my classroom and some very basic educational software. I would love to have software that would support building my students' reading skills (phonemic awareness) as well as their visual perceptual skills. Alpha-Smarts would also be incredible for my students!
My Philosophy:
I believe that ALL students CAN learn if we just find the right way to teach them. My students with special needs are no different than anyone else....it just takes longer to learn because we need to practice more than others.

Employment History:
I worked for one year in a non-public school, and I have worked for Los Angeles Unified School District for 12 years since that time.
Why Do I Teach?:
I LOVE working with students with special needs. I enjoy being able to "make things make sense" when no one else can. There is nothing like being able to see the progress a child makes with the help of a program like the one I teach.
