Class Description:
My classroom is for students with Autism. We have a range of abilities and personalities. We work on academics as well as skills that are needed to become an independant member of the community.

Teacher/Autism
Needs:
I would like to have my students begin the recycling program at my school so we would need Recycle bins (big ones) to collect and transfer into vehicle to get it to the recycling center. I would also like to use a self-made year book for each of my students using a digital camera, possibly a video camera and scrapbook supplies. I would involve langauge and writing skills as well as community living skills such as getting and paying for pictures at the store, taking the pictures et.c
My Philosophy:
There are no learning disabilities, just differences. Everyone can learn if they have the right teacher. Everyone learns at their own speed and when they are ready.

Why Do I Teach?:
I think this is what I was meant to do for life. I've always wanted to be a special education teacher (have a worksheet from 3rd grade to prove it) and I love the fact that not everyone could do my job, and I think I do it very well.
