Why I need this:
100% of my class either has been diagnosed with ADHD or shows signs of the disorder. Trying to keep their attention is the biggest challenge we face during the day. This technology would increase my student’s achievement by providing an interesting and engaging environment. I believe that this technology would be seen by the students as a “computer game.” They would be very reinforced by it. They would be more engage thus listening and comprehending more of what is said. If their engagement was increased by a small percentage, their achievement would also be increased. If you consider small skills that would be taught and because of the technology, heard and processed, their academic skills would progress at a much faster rate than they are now. Right now, on average, I have two students who respond with me consistently during our Calendar Math session. Given the technology assistance, I believe I would have ten students consistently responding with me. With my students, we focus a lot of reinforcing activities. |
