Edgecombe Circle Elem Sch 62
Hometown:
Lock Haven, PA
Class Information:
Room Number: 122
Students per Class: 377
Class Description:
I teach grades Pre-K through 6th. 2nd through 6th grades work on a program called Study Island that they access from the internet. It focuses on reading and mathematics and helps prepare them for MSA (state test). I also teach different application programs, for example, publisher and power point. My younger students are learning the components and icons of Microsoft word.
Position:
Computer Teacher
Needs:
I would really like Scholastic Keys for my younger students. The program is great because the buttons are bigger and kid friendly. It uses green checkmarks for ok and red x's for no. The students can learn and use the programs more effectively than what I have on the computers now. I would also like to get a video camera for us to tape our announcements in the morning. We have the capability to show them over the TV but we do not have the camera for it. Scanners would be great to have so that they can scan pictures onto the computers to use for their power point projects. I want to have my older students do a timeline of their life from a baby until now. However I don't have any scanners at school. I was willing to bring mine in from home but I have so many students that they wouldn't all be able to get their stuff on the computers. Having jump drives would be useful because they could scan the pictures onto them and then take it to their computers. They would also be able to save their projects and not have to worry about other students messing with their projects.
