Class Description:
I teach 7th grade Language Arts/Literature and Social Studies class at Silverado Middle School in Roseville, California.

Needs:
I am given a very limited classroom budget of about $200 for the academic year for all of my classroom supplies. Although I can purchase everyday consumables like paper and art supplies, my current budget makes the addition of technology impossible for my students to access. My greatest technological needs for my classroom include Podcasting equipment, digital cameras, website software, as well as additional support materials.

I have been a proud California public school teacher since 1994, and am still striving to make the classroom experience the very best that it can be for my students.

Activities:
Proud wife and mother of 2 children, Co-Director of the Silverado Theater Company, GATE Liason for the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District, and eternal student.

I'm a sucker for a series...and what my students read: The Lord of the Rings Series; Harry Potter Series; Charlie Bone Series; Artemis Fowl Series; Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry; Holes; Maniac Magee; Missing May; Freak the Mighty; The View From Saturday...and the list continues.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I can't imagine doing anything else that challenges my mind and fulfills me so well. I am honored to work with such amazing students and a team of teachers who support and honor students by working each day to do what is in the best interests of kids. I work for them.
