Class Description:
High school creative writing magnet program for students in grades 9-12 who qualify academically to be at the school. (2.5 GPA) The program covers skills ranging from composition to research to more traditional forms of creative writing like poetry and short stories.

Needs:
We have a roomful of iMacs that are more than 7 years old, and the machines crash constantly while the students are writing. If it gets any worse, we'll be better off with nothing than with these machines. We need 20 new computer workstations. Our school system now requires that they are PCs, not Macs.

BA English from Auburn University Montgomery. Alt B teaching certificate earned at Alabama State University. Currently working on a Master of Liberal Arts at AUM.

Worked at small publishing house NewSouth Books from 2001-2003. Started teaching at BTW in 2003.
Why Do I Teach?:
Because I believe that writing is a leveling force in society.
