My Philosophy:
I'm trying to transition into the digital age for photography and graphics in art. We still use traditional darkroom photography so it is not giving students real world experience. Also, my art students need to be learning on software and hardware that they use in the design fields. As a teacher in this very technology oriented world, I also need to adjust my teaching methods to include more technology; power point lectures and demonstrations, using the smartboard for interactive learning and more visual learning, ect.

I have been teaching high school art and photography for 17 years. I love the kids and love learning right along with them!
College and Degrees:
I have my MA in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in art from the University of Missouri, Kansas City

Why Do I Teach?:
I have a passion for teaching teenagers. I want to be a positive influence and have a chance to make an impact. I want each student to know how valuable they are as individuals. I want to pull out each student's unique strengths and help them see the strengths in others. I want them to never stop learning!
