Class Description:
I teach two fifth grade science classes and two sixth grade science classes. I love to give the students web quests to complete. Projects, hands on activities, and labs are very common in my classroom.

Needs:
I would love a digital camera in my classroom to take pictures of my students as they are doing lab experiment or giving a presentation. Web cams and microphones would also be very useful so they can create popcasts and short videos.
My Philosophy:
Children will learn through doing. Learning is fun. A positive attitude makes a huge difference in learning.

About Me:
Mother of 4: 14 yr. old, 12 yr. old, 9 yr. old, and 7 yr. old; love to read, play outside, swim, play games, play guitar hero, play wii with my kids, and just about anything else that is fun.
College and Degrees:
Baldwin-Wallace College- Bachelor of Science Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Math and Science; Currently attending Lesley University's online Master's program- Technology in Education.

Favorite Quotes:
The golden rule is my favorite quote: "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you." If everyone followed this rule at least 50% of the time, the world would be a much better place.
Employment History:
I am in my second year of teaching. I was a stay at home mom for eleven years, five of which I attended college full-time. I graduate in May of 2006 and received my first job at Old Brooklyn Community Middle School as a fifth grade Math and Science teacher in August, 2007. Before children, I served in the Air Force for over three years as a surgical technician in Biloxi, MS- 1992-1996.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach to so that children can experience fun while learning. I teach to reach that one student that will make a huge difference in the world and make it a better place. I teach because I love to teach.
