Class Description:
I have special eduction classroom in a special education school. I have six great students with Autism, ranging in age from 6 to 9.
Position:
Special education classroom teacher
Needs:
My students have a lot of developmental, speech/language, and social needs. My students really seem to understand and be engaged during technology lessons. My class would really benefit from a classroom ipad to assist them in meeting their goals.
My Philosophy:
Working with students with Autism, it's important to focus on their strengths and interests to help teach them. My students love computers, applications, and technology. They really seem to understand it, too. I often work with my students individually to work on their reading, math, and speech goals. Students often become confused and distracted when using paper and pencil types of materials. An ipad would allow me to teach these skills in a more fun and interactive way. It is my philosophy that when students are engaged and having fun, they learn much better!
