Class Description:
I teach Wood Technology to grades 9 thru 12. My Woods I classes learn basic woodworking; hand tools, power machines, and cabinet joinery. Woods II students learn furniture design and construction methods. Woods III & IV students learn advanced cabinet and furniture construction, jigs & fixtures, and industry problem solving.
Position:
Industrial Technology teacher
Needs:
I would like to have a couple flip cameras for my classes to video ; teaching methods, students operating machines and project construction steps so they can view their machine procedures. I would also like to have a ceiling - mounted projector in my classroom hooked up to my computer to show my teaching CD's in my lectures. It would also be an asset to have a smart Board to greatly enhance my teaching .If these three items were donated to my program it would be a huge blessing to me, my students, and my program overall. Thank you.
My Philosophy:
I believe every student needs to learn how to believe in him/herself, develop positive thinking, and accept the power of positive thinking. I believe in helping students to have a a good attitude about learning and life in general.I teach students to "do all things in the spirit of excellance".
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am 64 years old with the mind and attitude of a 30 year old man. I am very active both at work and at home. I have been teaching for 33 years and love it! I love God, my wife, my sons (2), and my grandchildren, and life in general. I am thankful everyday that I teach and can change lives through my teaching.
College and Degrees:
Bachelor's degree and master's degree from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio Elementary Principal (Educational Administration) degree from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio.
Activities:
Bike riding, golf, camping, taking long walks with my wife, woodworking, fishing, and reading a good book.

worked in various areas of industry from steel mill, automotive, and cabinetmaking. Final destination, Teaching.
Why Do I Teach?:
Having been in industry for ten years before becoming a teacher, I was able to see the areas of need industry had in their employees. That encouraged me to become a teacher to help direct positive attitudes and a stronger work ethic in our youth. I have been doing this in my program for 33 years now and I love teaching. I teach woodworking technology.
