Franklin Co High School
Class Information:
Students per Class: 25
Class Description:
I work with all classes at Franklin County High School. We are a rural county where most of our industry disappeared since we had textile and furniture factories. Many of our students do not leave Franklin County, and there are a lot of Hispanics due to the agriculture needs. Some will never leave the county to visit other places.
Position:
Instructional Technology Resource Teacher
Needs:
I would like to have mp3 players for foreign language classes, LCD projectors, digital cameras, camcorders especially the Point and Shoot cameras that record 30 or 60 minutes of video and have a USB port. They run less than $100 each. We can use DVD players. I am trying to connect our students globally so they know there are other ways of doing things. I plan to use the mp3 players to record their foreign language lessons so they can study without feeling they are not "cool". I also want to use the mp3 players to participate in the recording of men and women in our county who served in World War II as part of the project created by the producers of the PBS series, The War. The mp3 players and cameras will be a great way to record local history. I am also trying to encourage our students to podcast. This will help with language and grammar skills. Anything will be appreciated.
