Add Me as a Friend!
Santa Cruz High School
Class Information:
Room Number: 55
Students per Class: 10
Class Description:
I have a diverse group of wonderful, kind, gentle people in my class. My students have disabilities that range from Autism, Downs Syndrome, to Multiple Disabilities. We spend most of the school day focusing on life skills. We designed a "Friends Cafe" in our room, and we operate a beverage bar. Our class is very popular at Santa Cruz High School. My students spend their day waiting on students from our vast student body. The clients (student body) come in to purchase various drinks from my class and they spend the entire break in our room, just hanging around.
Position:
SDC Teacher
Needs:
We need computers, and software in order to provide our students with more ability-leveled experiences on the computer. We need software for language arts, math, and life skills. I have one computer that gets alot of action from our students.

I travel a lot. When vacation arrives, my bags are packed. Last year I went to Florida with my students for two weeks. When school was out I went to Germany for ten days, and when I returned from Germany I went to South Dakota to see the Crazy Horse Monument, and Mount Rushmore. I love to travel.

I began teaching in private schools thirty years ago. When my children started to school, I wanted to go to. I taught in private schools for ten years. Then I changed over to public schools and I substituted all over the San Joaquin Valley for three years. I taught for seven years in Soledad as a special ed teacher for grades 6-8. I switched over to the high school and I have been there for six years.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love to be with the students. Teaching and seeing them really get something new is so exciting for me. It keeps me young.
