My students are wonderful fourth graders ranging in age from nine years old to eleven years old. They live in a small rural southern town and most are from low income families. The parents are very supportive, but my kids don't have a lot of "stuff" and they don't have much experience beyond their homes and school.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I am dedicated to making the most of my students' opportunities while they are in school. I enjoy being with the students on a daily basis and watching their progress not only during the time they are with me, but in the years that follow. For now, I think my students need a teacher like me, and I will continue to teach until I no longer feel I live up to the highest standard they deserve.
