Class Description:
Small classroom, in a building that was built in 1971. There is limited storage and one window that faces into a courtyard that is not really maintained. Our school's schedule is of a trimester format, with 5 65 minute class periods per day. I currently teach 8th and 5th grade American History and an exploratory class for 5th graders called "Hands On Equations".

About Me:
I have taught elementary school for twenty-two years in two different, rural school districts. I enjoy scrapbooking, sports--playing and watching. I also like experimenting on the computer with various video/digital programs.
College and Degrees:
I have a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Education. I received both degrees from Central Michigan University. I also have a Master of Education Degree in Administration from Saginaw Valley State University.
Activities:
Scrapbooking, photography, music, sports--baseball and golf in particular.
Favorite Books:
Personally, my favorite author is Jodie Picoult. Professionally, I thoroughly enjoyed the book by Todd Whittaker, "What Great Principals Do Differently"

Why Do I Teach?:
I have always felt that "teaching" was my "calling". I received the call way back in fifth grade. From that point on I knew I was destined to be a teacher. Why do I teach? It's what I was meant to do.
