Class Description:
I teach 5th grade, as well as 4th and 6th grade science. I teach in a very rural, high poverty area. Many of my students don't have a computer at home, and I have only one working computer in my classroom.
Position:

Needs:
My class is in need of a digital projector and a Smartboard. I need something to help motivate my students and to expose them to technology that they have no experience with. I've worked at schools with the latest technology, and I've seen students achieve great things! I want to give my students that same chance.
My Philosophy:
Incorporating technology into lessons helps to motivate students. Students are more eager to try something new if there is a technology component to it. Technology also allows me to more closely monitor and assess my students and their learning needs.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I want students to expand their horizons. I'm from a very small town, and I teach in a very small town. Many of my students have little knowledge about the world outside of our state. I want to open their minds up to the diversity of our world, to show them how much there is to learn and explore. I want them to be excited about learning, so they will pursue knowledge throughout their entire life.
