Class Description:
I am a special education teacher working in an adult transition program. My students have significant disabilities and struggle with basic reading and writing. The majority of our program focuses on functional academics and learning daily living skills. We also provide on-site job training. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has forced our program to continue remotely which has been a challenging transition for both my students and myself. Additionally, the regulations in place for schools to reopen will greatly impact the future of our program including eliminating the use of job sites and community-based instruction. My students will have to be able to efficiently navigate through online platforms in order to learn the skills they need.
Position:
Adult Transition Teacher
Needs:
Pads provide a user-friendly platform for my students to perform various educational tasks. They will be able to use speech to text applications to complete assignments with touch screen as my students may have dexterity issues and are unable to type. They may also take advantage of other applications to watch videos, interact with their peers, and communicate with teachers and staff.
