About Me:
Spent 3 summers at NSTA headquarters in Washington DC developing a webguide and online teacher's guide for science teachers. I have had 5 teams of students win the national Space Day award in the past 3 years and traveled with them to Washington DC to receive their awards and meet John Glenn. Im a member of NSTA, National Middle Level Science Teachers Association, and the Texas State Science Teachers Association. Ihave received grant from AIAA to build Hovercraft and I received our disctrict Instructional Excellence Grant to build life-size model of cells. I've taught swimming in Hawaii one summer, worked at Wall Drug Store in the Badlands of South Dakota, student-taught in England, and spent one summer in the British Virgin Islands developing a pre-school/day camp program for island natives.
College and Degrees:
B.S. in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta. M.S. in Education with Reading Specialist certification from Stephen F. Austin State University,TX.

Why Do I Teach?:
Analysis of current data indicates that our students are struggling to make connections to the real world of science. Today, fewer students seek advanced level courses in science and fail to see science as a career choice. I need to change that! I need to make a difference!
