Class Information:
Room Number: 208
Students per Class: 20
Class Description:
Low income, multi-cultural refugee school in inner city. My students have a tremendous desire to learn due to their scary, unhappy pasts. They want to better themselves and strive to learn as much as they can and please their teachers. Many take care of their siblings while parents are working evenings and nights.
Position:
classroom teacher
Needs:
Books at all levels to teach with and to have them take home. They learn to read and reading to their siblings helps the entire family. Some of my students go home and teach English to their parents. The families are very grateful for everything. Books, whiteboards, markers, poster paper, Wal Mart gift cards, STaples or any other gift card for classroom supplies would be greatly appreciated.
My Philosophy:
Everyone can learn. They learn at their own pace with appropriate materials. Books open the heart to learning.
