Cape Hatteras Elementary Sch
Class Information:
Room Number: 225
Students per Class: 90
Class Description:
I teach in a room that has been converted into a Science lab. I also have an old dance/practice room connected to my classroom. In the attached room we have installed large tanks (850 gallons, 360 gallons) in which we raise fish to tag and release into the Pamlico Sound. The school in which I teach is located on the Pamlico Sound so the students also have the waters of the Pamlico as their large open classroom. It is in the Pamlico where they build their artificial reefs and conduct research.
Position:
Science Teacher
Needs:
We are in constant need of things such as: waders, snorkels and masks, dip nets, seine nets, and other collection equipment, aquariums, pumps, and other field research equipment.

Why Do I Teach?:
I have always enjoyed learning and discovering new and exciting things. As a teacher I hope that I can help my students to realize the importance of being a lifelong learner. I would like to encourage them to have a joy for learning and to understand that each day is an opportunity to discover something new. I want my students to watch an osprey fly over them and for them to understand the amazing science behind that majestic flight.
