Class Description:
My classroom is full of young vibrant children full energy in a school with no playground or gym for them to have the opportunity to release that energy. We are in the middle of the inner city and my students are burdened with the many challenges of growing up in the inner city. Many go home to empty homes, in crime ridden neighborhoods . Most of their lives lack order at home and live in poverty. Drugs, gangs and guns are every day occurrences in their lives. They come to my classroom looking for order, safety, psychological security and lessons in character. I find myself being not only their teacher, but their parents, friends, counsellor, nurse, and more. The problem is the my school works hard to provide for my students yet we lack many things. For me technology can bring the experience of the outside world into the classroom. I am hoping to fill my students with a love of life and learning.
Position:
grade 2 teacher
Needs:
This year my classroom was broken into and my technology was stolen and the school is unable to replace it. I was lucky enough to receive an enoboard through a grant but unfortunately, I no longer have the technology to make it work. I am requesting: 4 desk top computers 1 notebook 1 printer 10 student tablets
My Philosophy:
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as a educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.

My family is the most important thing in my life. My husband and two girls bring me happiness. I am quiet, shy, hardworking, and dedicated to what I believe it. I believe there is a time for work and a time for play. I always work to help the under dog.
