Class Description:
I teach various levels of Multi-Media classes at the HS. We are currently in a budget crisis and no new money has been allotted to us for new equipment, maintenance and repair of existing equipment, or for the purchase of general needs. Currently, we have been fundraising by selling videos and this has allowed us to purchase 4 new HD digital video cameras and one new digital still camera, but this took years of fundraising and most of the available money.

Needs:
We are still in need of 4 new video camera tripods (preferably Bogen/Manfrotto),3 new Sony DSC-H50 digital still cameras, maintenance and repair money, Desisti replacement bulbs for various burned out fill, key, and spot lights in the studio, boom microphones, and a studio-grade desk for our daily broadcasts.

My philosophy is simple: provide the students with the very latest technology (and opportunities associated with technology) and they will continue to amaze you by exceeding the expectations.

About Me:
I have been teaching at SFHS for the past three years and I am excited by the opportunities avaliable to my students. Unfortunately, the recent budget crunch has put a damper on many of those opportunities.

I enjoy reading more than anything and always thought that I would love being an English teacher because of that reason alone. How wrong I was...it wasn't until I got my first taste of teaching media that I knew that I had truly found my niche. Oh, to teach media and only media would make me a splendidly happy teacher....

Why Do I Teach?:
I love seeing my students demonstrating their understanding of media through the creation of it. I also love that the students probably teach me more than I teach them--it is truly a reciprocal relationship that we have created in my classroom.
