About Me:
This marks the beginning of my thirteenth year of teaching. One year in fourth grade, two teaching junior high math, nine in sixth, and this one in fifth. Although I originally thought I wanted to teach kindergarten, I have found through my years of teaching that I love the energy of middle school kids. I am married with one son, and enjoy doing anything with my 'boys.'

Favorite Books:
As an elementary school teacher it should not be surprising that most of my favorite books are those that I read to my students. A few of my favorites are Bud, not Buddy, Stargirl, Because of Winn-Dixie, NightJohn, the Harry Potter series, and the Twilight series.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love to learn and I love experiencing others getting actively involved in their education. One of my favorite parts of being a teacher is watching my students get excited about their own learning--when they take what they've learned in my classroom and apply it outside our classroom door.
