Class Description:
I teach in a diverse, low-income area with kids who are extremely excited about learning when given the chance to experience it through fun and exciting ways.

Needs:
I need to update my classroom to reflect a 21st century learning environment desperately. The things that I need are: A SMARTBoard, digital cameras, and other foundational technology to take learning from the textbooks to real life experiences that make an impact on my students in both academic and personal ways.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy of teaching is to reach a student by any means necessary. I feel like we are teaching a new era of students with a 1960's approach. We need to move away from looking for a textbook with the lessons we want to do and move towards engaging our students in their learning by offering exciting innovative ways to reach the same end goal. Students can no longer be seen as empty vessels waiting to be filled and need to be seen as fires waiting to be ignited.
