Southeast Bulloch High School
Hometown:
Newnan, Georgia
Class Information:
Room Number: 217
Students per Class: 96
Position:
Spanish Teacher
Needs:
I am a teacher at a low income school, and I absolutely believe in the use of technology in the classroom to enhance learning. The only problem is that we have very little technology. I teach foreign language, yet, we have no language lab or even headphones to use for speech progression in the target language. We have a SmartBoard and some computer labs and that is about it. It is hard to make use of the many tools on the Internet and the tons of software available for foreign language with no money to buy the necessary equipment. I would really like a set of 64 headphones so that I and my other Spanish teacher could provide innovative lessons and methods of assessment for our students. I would love a portable language lab as well as a portable flip video lab.
My Philosophy:
I believe that in today's world of education that it is getting harder and harder to actively engage students. It is imperative that teachers must use every tool in the box that they can. One of the greatest tools available is technology. I can take my class to a different world with the click of a mouse. In order motivate students to learn the language, they need to hear it, speak it, and learn the culture. With technology, all of this is made possible.
