Ibelieve that each and every student has the potential to bring something brilliant and extraordinary into the world. Education is about opening doors - opening doors into ourselves, into the world that surrounds us, and into worlds that we cannot see. Everything that a student learns whether it is a fact, skill, or connection, opens another door or at least gives them the key to open another door. The doors which they choose to open will depend on them individually, but the more they know, the more choices they will have. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas so that students can learn and practice how to manipulate knowledge, to reflect, to evaluate, to adapt, and to create. In this way, I will have helped to empower students to make the most of who they are and future situations that they may face.
